Open seminar on vegetable tanned leather:

Veg-tan: what does it mean and what story does it tell?
Food for thought offered by the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium

The Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium gathers together the Tuscan tanneries that produce vegetable-tanned leather.
It is a non-profit organization that works to safeguard the centuries-old tradition of vegetable tanning, protect a typically Tuscan product, guarantee its origin and its proper processing, promote  the know-how of Tuscan tanners.
The Consortium doesn’t sell any product itself, its mission is to tell the story of this leather and communicate the values and culture of the place where it is made by organizing seminars and workshops  dedicated to the stakeholders of the leather supply chain.

Leather is the word used  to identify a material obtained by the transformation  of an animal raw hide.

Designers and makers know that it is indeed our concern and responsibility to comprehend the impact of our work and the choices we make. Let’s look at THE TUSCAN WAY…
